Although I have not been blogging I have been felting. Work has been epically insane.....I have just finished day 4 in a 6 day run..I'm not complaining but my feet may very well fall off!! I am going to crawl into bed with my wool..a little more then a month before my art show....I feel no panic what so ever in writing that (yup, my nose is growing!)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

O.k. not really x-mas, however when I get a package in the mail, I don't wait..nope I'm an instant gratification girl!!!!!! Regardless of date time ect.....package opening needs to happen!!!! I intended to wait to open my sister's package with her on the phone...she wasnt home...what's a girl to do? Instant package opening!!!!! Here are the pictures Jody!!! The bird in my hair I think is a bobily deceration, perhaps not intended for hair adornment, thinking outside the box can be kinda funny! The coolest fridge magnet EVER and soap that took me a minute to realize was not in fact a huge chunk of chocolate, very pleased that I realized before taking a large bite...x-mas mirical!!!!! I have also included the really pretty card my Aunt sent with nothing written on the inside.....what does that mean???!!! Much laughter over that one! Hugs and laughter...great big fat x-mas kisses for you Jody!!!!

The ferries are DONE!!!!!!!!! They are delivered, payed for and out of my home, making way for new projects. I am painting an old wooden ladder, with ideas swirling in my head on ways to fill it (don't worry I have some interesting ideas!) hugs and laughter!! xoxoxox

waiting for my pizza dude!

I am (or was) sitting on my bed finishing the last bit of felting on the boy ferries. Because it is a custom order (yeh!) thair were some specific requests (for example a welding mask.....not a big deal and yet.....it is hard when my creative vision is dictated by someone else's vision. Something to keep in mind before saying yes to projects down the line. I am waiting for my pizza dude, and yes the girl called me by my name, and no the pizza place does not have caller I.D. I may need to examine my pizza habits!!!

Christmas market

HELLO!!!!!! Hi Jody! I have been epically busy...craft market, plans for Montreal, figuring out my finances.....I have been good though! O.k. in a moment of non photo planning I have very poorly taken pictures, however I will show you what I have with a New Years resolution to be more picture diligent. I don't have any photos of my craft table at the market, however in a moment of pure...I dont know what I have photos of what I saw standing behind my booth lol!!!!! I also have the 3 paintings that I finished in the 11th hour (2 of which sold!!!) I made $520 at the market!!!!!!!!!!! Feeling preety proud of myself! I have the remaining pictures hanging in the back room of the Redfish Grill (in Nelson) and have already sold 2 (they have been up for a day and a half!) The next big event is my art show at Oso (the hot spot coffee shop in town) O.k. lovely world sleep well!

night of the 8th

I have 5 possible paintings for Sat. I decided to rework some previous disasters, and low and behold....I am getting some interesting results....nothing finished which is slightly stressful, however.......I am going to stop painting for tonight and work on owls. I am always way more creative in the morning, which is great except the next 3 mornings I will be waitressing (creative serving!) I am a bit concerned that in order to get everything done I will have to do it at night....not my best hours! I seem to have misplaced my camera, so no pics. O.K. owls here I come!

dec. 8th

The power has gone out 3 times in the last 10 hours or so...no apparent reason..big blue sky! Welcome to the quirky power system of Nelson! I have 27 frames and a handful of owl pins for the craft fair this weekend...Central school 9:30 to 4:30 Nelson B.C. I am sort of in melt down mode....I promised some people that I would have some paintings for sale as well..big sigh. It is Tuesday morning right now..I work tomorrow, Thursday and Friday..craft fair is on Saturday...ginormous sigh! I need to work on procrastination I am very good at it and I need to practice how to be bad at it!!!!!! Coffee, painting cloths, music (if the power stays on) paint brushes and determination..here I come!

Roxy, has made new friends...friends with lunch meat! A new group of people have moved into the house down the lane, I was having a quick chat with my friends (who also live in that building) I went outside to collect my dog...and she was gone. She smelled the new people cooking dinner and broke into thair house, settling herself in the middle of thair kitchen, convincing them to feed her lunch meats.......Oh my sweet darling Roxy!!!! Meanwhile in fairy (oh I think I finally spelled that right)land all 4 are started..tomorrow will be the sewing of cloths...and possibly completion!!!! Pictures when they are done!

Dec. 1st

I am about to tuck myself into bed...but first I had to give you a ferry update....not done however I have 2 that are heading in the done direction...yey!!!!!!!! I also finished the market sign....not perfect but (not that it is a contest) better then Brenton's!!!!! I should worn you that one of the ferry's is indeed wearing a pink thong...as all good ferry's should..giggle giggle!!!!!!

Nov 30th

'I just awoke from a 4 hour nap...it was full on, lights off, all my blanket's pulled up over my head, I'm assuming thair was snoring!!!! 7:30 last night (poor judgment call) I drank a liter of a coffee beverage....kicked quite a punch! I was up most of the night...I did get some owl body's started...so yay, however today...sleep deprived moron!!!! I spent the morning painting a x-mas sign at Brenton's I had to remove myself 5 hours ago as it was heading in the direction of disaster!!! I am going to take a bath, drink a liter of coffee (joking) and resume my painting! Will it get finished tonight? It has too.....it will be perfectly imperfect......and no signature lol!!!!!!!

I am back

Turns out blogging is kind of like exercise....you skip a couple of days and all of a sudden blogging might as well be climbing mount everest!!!!!! I am back on track..I am here in front of my beloved (I might have rolled my eyes) computer! I have been kind of busy...my Friday power tool introduction was pushed back...I had a dear friend who needed some support...Brook and I will reconnect some time this week...will keep you posted!! I got a tattoo, my 5th...I love it!!! Super quirky, I got it done yesterday and can't wait for it to heal, right now it looks a bit like marker. I feel sooooooo connected to this newest art peice!!!!! I LOVE it!!!! I have been painting craft fair signage......December 12th 9;30 to 4;30 at Central school...if your in Nelson stop by and bring me coffee!!!! I have also been working on the boy ferries, I have included pictures...they are in the very early stage of completion. In my crafting experience there is a terribly ugly stage before the fantastic stage....we would be at the ugly phase! I am heading up to paint another sign....I have included a picture of the sign painted by Brenton...you will see that he desperatly needed rescuing.....I'm coming Brenton!!!!!!

Roxy and I are fighting (my dog) I am experiencing the worlds worst bout of cramps...that's not why we are fighting! We are fighting because she stole and then ate the peanut butter ball I had been saving for my "I made it through the day and now I am going to treat myself with a sweat treat". I am now eating carrot sticks...and let me tell you I am not jumping up and down with glee!!! Rox, with a full belly (I fed her dinner before realizing her score) is snoring by my feat!!!!!!! I am out of words, and carrot sticks, and so I better go.

I am sitting alone having a pure giggle fit......I don't know if anyone is reading my blog, but if you are my sister is the one posting comments,,,thus the giggles!!!!!! In my world thair are no instruction books trail and error is the only way to go! Soooooo, when yesterday I had the idea to upcycle a t-shirt with knitting and buttons thair was no pattern, no acknowledgment that the only thing I know how to knit is a scarf.......no no no I just jumped in.....was it sucsesful...do I have a wearable shirt...nope...but I sure had fun!!!!!!!! I have an afternoon planned with my girls and then a night of working on a custom order..4 boy ferries. I also have a Friday date to learn how to use a power saw......super scary but if one does not face ones fears they will always be scary...so here goes!

Hi all!!! feeling better...yeh!!!!!! I am in the middle of painting a picture..I am in the very ugly, should never be seen but me stage of the process...lol!!!! I am really into the bird thing...she is a lady with kind of wing like things (however at this stage of the game it is best not to get attached to an idea as things tend to get painted over) Roxy is sleeping by my feet and Simon has braved the rainy night to do his ally patrol! The fridge is humming, the people upstairs are walking about, the rain is pitter pattering....life is good!

O.K so I am in melt down mode....here goes. I am scared, terrified actually. Why you ask...I think I am scared at the possibility of success. I looked at the web sights given to me at the market....www.awoodsidededesign.com and anthropologie.com.....oh my goodness they are actual stores with amazing things...artists real live artizens.....and people thought I was at that level.....good god!!!!?????!!!!!! I am a waitress who in my off time sits in a mound of buttons and scraps of material with my glue gun....this is crazy. I feel as if I am at a cross roads.....take me and my art and start promoting, putting myself out thair in this crazy world allowing people to make comments..both good and bad. I thought I had been doing this, however I realize...not at all! I have been sheltered and protected in Nelson...and the big wide world is scary! I am not a trained fiber artist, I am not a trained anything artist. I have been creating because I love it and now others love it as well sooooooooo I will do this art thing...I AM doing this art thing but just to let you know it scares the pants off me (or skirt, depending on the day!) I feel like having a coffee and chat with my friend Fraya dreaming of the possibility of my stuff being bought and loved..as it is becoming more real I feel very lost and overwhelmed!!!!!!! This IS very wonderful and fantastic and tomorrow I wont feel so lost....but today I am crawling under the covers to pretend I am not an emerging artist.

Nov 17th

I have returned!!!! I made it to and from Kelowna safely!!!! The craft fair was good, a learning experience and wonderful validation.....felted owls are cool..even in the city! I sold 8 frames and 15 owl pins. Apparently this years market was much slower then previous years, which makes me quite pleased with my sales!!!! Most people dont head out thair door with felted owls on thair shopping lists!!!! According to the marketing people my things are creative, something new and different...hearing that makes me jump up and down doing my one of a kind dance!!!!!!!! I also had a gallery owner buy one of my owl frames..very cool, again I did the dance!!!! A woman also gave me information on a shop that she feels very strongly would be interested in selling my things....again I did a jig!!! I took some pictures of us setting up and a couple of the table once it was done. I had sort of forgotten that it was a Christmas market....which means Christmas music....for hours...on repeat!!!!! Also the giant Santa that stood at the door looking very jolly....It's NOVEMBER!!!!!!!! I have also included a picture of Peggy, she's 93 and bought an owl pin, we then went for a smoke and named him smokey.....Hi Peggy!!!!!! O.k. wonderful people I am off..to do what, not sure, but something other then blogging!!!! Thank-you Kelowna for a wonderful and supportive week-end!!!!

I think today is Nov 12th

My hair is fixed, and I adore it!!!!! Erin didn't freak out at all, however her eyes did widen slightly when she saw the slight bald(ish) patch on the side of my head....time will heal most things..my hair included!!! Thank-you Erin..I love it!!!!! Guess what I am doing...o.k. right now I am blogging, guess what I was doing and will be doing again shortly...give up? I am wrapping cans of food for my art to lean on at the craft show. Ware did I get food..from my kitchen? No chance my cubbords are filled with shoes and crafting stuff...I really don't cook...I knocked on friends doors asking to borrow thair cans (till Monday) every one was very generous...thank-you!!!! I do wonder how they will react when thair food is returned with black paper glue gunned to them.....mmmmmmm, hopefully with good humor!!!!!! I leave tomorrow morning, really very excited to experience my first humongous craft show! Fraya made it to Montreal!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hello you!!!!!!! Sending you and Mark love and laughter!!!!! Oh and Fraya I finished my first big big picture!!!!! Wish you were here but really excited that your not...you know what I mean!!!!! I will take pictures at the show and post them next week!!!! nov.10th

Hi all, 5 frames done except for backing and hanging, 4 more in the painting stage....6 a.m. wake up call..nothing like crafting at the crack of dawn!!! I have to make a public "I'm sorry" to my hair dresser....I have an appointment with her on Thursday (and still do) however I could not wait and so, in a moment of pure silliness cut my hair..... myself....with my crafting scissors. I look like yental when she was dressed as a boy....!!!! I should also mention the slight mishap while cutting the side.... I cut a patch.....by mistake....a short patch......I also dyed it dark brown.....with perniment hair dye!!!!!! She will have to fix me and I will be sporting a hat for the next day and a half!!! Don't worry Erin I will take full responsibility for the state of my head!!!!

At 7:30 this morning I had a wonderful chestnut tree laden with nuts and casting my apartment in shades of green....8 hours later my prized tree has been chopped down...gone...nothing but a stump and bits of wood...GONE!!!!!!!! Although I am renting, and tecnially have no claim to this tree I have been living here for almost 4 years and felt very much attached! Mondays really DO suck!!!!!! I am off to craft, and perhaps shut my curtains as my nature curtain is no longer here, otherwise it will be the Kim show for the whole ally to see! Off I go, coffee in hand and feeling a bit glum...ho hum!

Today in the battle of the cold, i think the cold is trying to win, my head is pounding and I have 0 interest in food which may account for my feeling of walking in slow motion! I refuse to give in without a fight.....I may be moving slowly but moving I am!!!!!! I am including some pic's, two of which come from the Island. Queen B's is the shop in which I have been selling things!!!! I have also included a picture of 2 dogs hanging outside the departure door at the airport......I love small towns!!!! The big frame is in the final stage of completion, I need to glue the owls onto the backing and finally find material big enough to cover the back of the frame. Owl pins galore, and frames being sanded!

Nov 5th

I am back!!!!! I've been back since late Tuesday night, however the blogging bug didn't hit till 2 seconds ago, better now then never!!!! I made the bus, and except for a very sore bottom...the ride was very long, no disasters to report! I have been working on the big frame, thing about working in "big' is that it takes exactly 10 times longer to complete each step......I am in the middle of sewing on a series of circles to the already stitched on background...slow and steady wins the race (I wonder if this saying still applies if one is not actually racing?) I feel like I am fighting a cold and have dosed myself with everything and anything that might zap it dead in it's tracks...absolutly no time to fit a cold into my already crazy scedual...you hear that cold...no time!!!!! I have six frames glued and ready for sanding, the sanding will have to wait for tomorrow......no heavy power tools in my living room past nine p.m.!!!!! I have 22 owl pins done and ready to go and 13 that are finished except for there pin backs. I am going to crawl into bed, early work day tomorrow! Sweet dreams!

Nope, absolutly no recall on the code, however a very nice extreamly drunk 12 year old (I might be exagerating) let me in!!!! Not a whole lot of sleep...I think I may have been the only one to read the 'quite between 11 pm and 7 am' sign...I certainly would not have been in line to stop the quite police when they gaged and hog tied everyone and tucked them into bed....however they (the quite police) were nowhare in sight..lol!!!!!! My roomies were quite funny last night (sometime this a.m.) They had the light on, were gathering things up to get ready for bed, in the process rocking the bunk bed so badly I am surprised it didnt tip over (I was in it!) all the while shhhhhhhing one another...it made me laugh (on the inside as I was pretending to be asleep) They found NO humer when my alarm went off at 5 a.m. and the proceeding ruckus to get myself out the door (I do think I should earn points for leaving the light off!!!) It is 5;30 and I am off to find coffee before navigating my way to the bus station....are things open at 5;30? We shall see...talk with you all in Nelson!

I often find myself in hilarious situations...I am in one now!!!! I am in Vancouver, in a hostal, filled with 2o somethings...It is like a huge ass dorm room filled with parting....I feel old and slightly out of place. My dorm mates seemed quite enthused to begin a night of drinking and seemed mildly perplexed when I (who will have to be at the bus station at 6;15 a.m.) was not jumping for joy at a night of crusing for boys and cheep beer! Befor arriving at my 'dorm' I had a glorious dinner with people I did'nt know if I would ever reconnet with...it was wonderful! It is nice to know that I am still loved!!!!!! The owl felting this week was actually quite sucsessful....a bag full of owl pins!!!! I feel refreshed and ready to jump back into crafting full mode! I also had a wonderful surprise...a check for 230.00 for art that sold!!!!!!!! I didnt mean to, however I bought a pair of PURPLE boots!!!! It was a 2 for 1 deal soooooo I also acquired a pair of low heeled short boots....quite exciting, thair will have to be some practise walking befor I wear them in public!!!!! O.k. I am off to bed....I hope I can remember the code to regain enterence into my dorm...mmmmmmm cant seem to remember at the moment, I am hopefull that with the pin pad infrount of my face my memery will be jogged!!!!!!

Happy Halloween!!!!! I am still in Queen Charlotte City, population 1000, I have just gotten back from a party at the legion.... hilarious mayhem, kids...soooooo many kids in costume, jacked up on candy and excitement hitting huge pinyatas. Children ages 3 and up swinging a huge stick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I havent laughed that hard in a while!! My sister and I are going to hang out waiting for the kids to arrive (we need to contribute to the towns sugar high!!!) In the meantime I am felting away...I brought limited wool colours and my owls are starting to look the same. When I get home I may add some more detail with different wool. I am off to raid the candy bowl!!!!

Hi everyone! I made it!!!!!! I navigated through the bus, subway, and airport....several missed stops (I am convinced because of lack of sleep, not due to lack of direction ability!) and 1 billion dollars in coffee...I am on vacation! I have made 6 owls, although I forgot the pin backs on my craft table..opps!!! My sister, like my mom and I is a collector of things. Yesterday she pulled out buttons...hundreds of them!!! Isadore, age 1.5 years was quite over the moon when he discovered them. It then became the best day of his life when he realized he was whole heartily encouraged to dump them all over the floor....sooooo much fun!!!!!!! I am quite excited to use buttons in frames upon my return. Hugs laughter and toddler drool!!!!!!!!

O.K. who am I kidding....I am running around trying to pack up for my trip and I thought I would have time to be wonderfully creative and productive????????!!!!!!!!!! Here are some pictures in progress....I have eliminated almost all of my cloths in order to make room for my felting gear.......I will be playing dressup in my sisters closet! I intend to do some blogging while on the coast.....I hav''nt been on a vacation in forever!!!!! Hugs and laughter!

Happy Saturday! I have not blogged because not a whole lot of craftiness is going on! I have been busy...work, a little social fun, some housework (sometimes I do clean!) I am leaving Nelson tomorrow to visit my sister and her family (Hi jody!) I am taking the overnight bus to Vancouver, arrive at 5a.m., catch the plane at 12ish (need to see exactly what time I leave!) arriving in the Queen Charlot Islands without sleep....who needs sleep anyways!!!!!! My sense of direction is horrific, coupled with my small town street smarts, everyone (including me) is waiting with held breath until I arrive. I will keep you all posted! I tried cooking last night and almost severed my finger (not kidding........3 bloody bandages later it is quite clear why I don't cook !!!!!) I am still hopeful to have the big frame done before I leave......if it happens pictures will be posted! The Christmas craft fair is almost here........that's right people.....I will be felting on my vacation! Coffee in the A.M. with Faya!!!!!!! Hello people in computer world! I am about to stop crafting for this eavning, I have been working on the big frame and 2 smaller ones....flipping back and forth between all three has made for good starts but no finishes! I have to spend some time cleaning my home, I am hosting girls night this Friday.......nobody needs to witness the disaster of my space!!!!! One more day of work......xoxoxoxoxox

I am in Frame land! My finger tips are covered with lavender paint, and I am being quite dare devilish as I am wearing a cream dress....no paint spillage yet!!!!!! I am working on the big frame, I am aiming for this weekend as completion deadline...we shall see!

Oct 18

First of all yesterday was not the 16th but the 17th...Which makes this the 18th..not the 17th..you got all that!!!! October is flying by!!!! It is pouring rain, I can here almost a roar as it rolls off the roof....Roxy is looking out the window, and Simon.....poor little guy is out in this mess, I'm sure he has found a dry spot and will come racing home as soon as it lets up. I went apple picking (watching Brenton and Amos pick apples..lol) today after work....super fun....my apple picking buddy's are also the cooking type..I am expecting phone calls all this week to indulge in wonderful sweet apple treats! Although I was in a grump all this weekend I did get some felting done.....pictures added to the all done and ready to sell wall. At the moment I am working on a really big peice...I am keeping it really simple, time crunch and all is no time to expairiment....after x-mas! 5;30.......... time to start thinking about dinner, may have to dig out my rubber boots and splash on down to the food store!
